I loved painting “Fox Mask,” so I did a companion piece, “Wolf Mask.”
Traveling in China: A Quick Sketch
Visiting China was amazing. I could have whipped out my sketchbook anywhere, there were that many cool things to draw. At the famous Summer Palace in Beijing, I brought a little foldout chair and settled in to do a drawing. I had NO IDEA what was going to happen.
Before I barely had two lines on the page, people were sneaking around behind me to peak at the drawing. It was so embarrassing—I am sure they had been expecting more than a few marks on a page. But it didn’t matter. People would still walk by me and snap a photograph. Then, as the drawing grew more and more complex, groups of people crowded around me taking pictures. I guess it was pretty funny.
Then, individuals started sneaking up behind me (not saying a word) putting an arm around me and then their friends would snap a picture of us (whether or not I was paying attention). Hilarious. It was a wild experience. I should have brought my business cards. I could have passed out at least 200 like candy! All in all, China was a lovely experience.
Prints are available here. If you re-blog, please post the link.
Feathered Dream Catchers by Heather Teran
A new Heather Teran painting for Halloween! It is called “Night Out.”
This last weekend was a successful opening for my exhibition 90 Visions / 60 Days. As many will already know, the show featured artwork created during the challenge to make 30 paintings in 60 days. It was an incredible experience! Artists Annie Henrie and Elise Wehle also partipated.
For those in Salt Lake City who missed the opening reception, be sure to stop by during the closing reception at 461 E. 200 S. on Friday, September 20 from 6 to 9 pm. For the next few weeks I will be in traveling in Beijing, so posts may be a little sparser than usual.
